The Imran Khan Government of Pakistan is proving to be a complete failure in providing employment to the people. At present, the unemployment rate is the highest there. This can be gauged from the fact that more than 15 lakh people have applied for one post of peon in the High Court there.
According to data from the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) on Monday, the unemployment rate in Pakistan has reached 16 percent, exposing the Imran Khan-led Pakistan government's claim of 6.5 percent.
24% of educated people in Pakistan are unemployed
According to a news published in Dawn, PIDE has exposed the problem of increasing unemployment rate. According to PIDI, at present, at least 24 percent of the educated people in Pakistan are unemployed. In its briefing to the Senate Standing Committee on Planning and Development, PIDE said that 40 percent of educated women (undergraduates or graduates) across the country were also unemployed.
15 lakh applications came for one post of peon
According to reports, an advertisement was published recently, in which at least 15 lakh people had applied for the post of a peon in the High Court. Officials said that MPhil degree holders were also among those who applied for the job. PIDE officials said that no research is being done at the government level, adding that all such studies were conducted from abroad. The committee said that many research institutes are running in the country, but the research objectives are not being fulfilled.
Meanwhile, according to the Labor Force Survey (LFS) published by the Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Pakistan's unemployment has increased from 5.8 per cent in 2017-18 to 6.9 per cent in 2018-19. The government doesn't care about employment. However, the Imran government is more interested in getting Pakistani youth into the squad of terrorists.
